Required documents to apply the respective driving licence are as follows:
(a) A person wishing to hold a ‘L’ driving licence shall have attained 16 years of age. He shall be accompained by a person to teach him driving.
(b) A person wishing to hold a ‘A-1’ driving licence shall have following facts;
(1) (16) years old and above
(2) already have the valid ‘L’ driving licence
(3) attend accredited driving training school and passed the driving test.
(c) A person wishing to hold ‘A’ driving licence shall have attained (18) years of age and ‘L’ licence for three months periods and shall
already attend the accredited driving training school.
(d) A person wishing to hold ‘B’ driving licence shall have attained (18) years of age and held ‘L’ licence for period of three months (or)
‘A’ licence for period of three months.
(e) A person wishing to hold ‘C’ driving licence shall have attained (18) years of age and held ‘L’ driving licence. He must be capable
to drive the machinery which he has applied.
(f) A person wishing to hold ‘D’ driving licence shall have held ‘B’ licence for period of three years. A person driving a hired vehicle
under such a licence shall be a citizen, a permanent resident or a naturalized citizen of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
(g) A person wishing to hold a ‘E’ licence shall have held ‘D’ licence for a period of two years or ‘B’ licence for a period of consecutive five
years. He shall be a citizen, a permanent resident or a naturalized citizen of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. Moreover the person
shall fulfill the prescribed health requirements and pass the test as specified by the Central Registration.
(h) A person wishing to hold a ‘S’ licence (conductor or a spare man licence) shall be a citizen, a permanent resident or a naturalized citizen
of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. He must be at least 18 years old. He shall fulfill the prescribed health requirements and
pass the tests as specified by the Central Registration Authority.
(i) A person wishing to hold a ‘V’ Licence must be at least (18) years old. He shall have already been in possession of a ‘L’ driving licence
and can drive trawlergi and tractor.
(j) A person holding a driving licence at least one year period issued by Tamadaw (Army, Navy, Airforce) may apply for any appropriate
driving licence according to chapter IV, Article 62 of 1989 Motor Vehicle Rules. It does not need to held ‘L’ driving licence. In accordance with
the life-span of Tamadaw driving licence, the following driving licences may be applied for;
(i) A person holding a Tamadaw driving licence at least one year period may apply ‘B’ driving licence.
(ii) A person holding a Tamadaw driving licence at least three years period may apply ‘D’ driving licence but who cannot be
permitted to drive taxi.
(iii) A person holding a Tamadaw driving licence at least 5 years period and who retired from the military service may apply ‘E’
driving licence.
(iv) A person holding a Tamadaw driving licence but not complete one year life-span shall apply ‘L’ licence to hold the other driving
licence.
(k) According to the Agreement on the mutual recognition of Domestic Driving Licences issued by ASEAN countries which was signed in
1997, the persons who will go to ASEAN countries can drive with the smart card driving licence which are issued from Myanmar.
(l) Required documents to apply International Driving Permit (IDP)
(i) Valid domestic driving licence (genuine and copy)

(If applicant has been in the other country, passport copy can be allowed)
