(a)     Producing skilful drivers and systematic issuing of driving licenses: The objective of Road Transport Administration Department is Road Safety. In order to achieve the objective, 1964 motor vehicle Laws and 1989 Motor vehicle Rules are prescribed. The department is carrying out four main responsibilities assigned, however, it is necessary to produce skilful drivers and issue driving licenses systematically because of weakness in obedience of traffic regulations by drivers and road users, lack of systematic training for drivers and reckless driving which are leading to road traffic accidents.

(b)     Establishing Driving Training Schools: In order to produce skilful drivers, a driving training school has been established since 2003 under the control of the Department. The Department encourages private sector to establish driving training schools and, carries  out  to register the  private training schools.

          (4)     Road Safety knowledge and awareness 

          (5)     Traffic accidents can be avoidable by skilful driving
